Little news this week as the Rangers prepare for rookie camp next week and training camp the week after. Unless you include Brett Hull calling Mike Keenan "an idiot". Eurohockey.net lists Ilya Kovalchuk signing a contract with Russian Super League team Khimik Voskresensk as "confirmed", and the team's web site looks like it is carrying the same story (hard to tell because we can't read Russian). No doubt the Khimik deal has an NHL out clause and is designed to pressure Atlanta into meeting Kovalchuk's contract demands. Of course the Rangers could give him an offer sheet -- if they were allowed to.
