The NHL is going into a deeper freeze than we experienced up here at Lake Naomi the past few days. That leaves us with little to recommend by way of reading for today. This would be a good time to catch up on Stan Fischler's MSGN column, or read about Bobby Holik's portfolio of vacation homes in the lead paragraph to Kara Yorio's Sporting News column.
Maybe this is a good time to check in on the Worldstars barnstorming tour of Europe, especially since their 7-6 win last night was keyed by a pair of ex-Rangers, Alexandre Daigle netting a pair of goals and Anson Carter leading the comeback. Two consecutive AP reports called Carter a Ranger -- you'd think someone there would check their facts. Carter is one of several ex-Rangers on FoxSports' list of players in decline -- but Ranger fans knew that already. Alex Kovalev and Tony Amonte are also on the short list of eight. I guess we'll be seeing one or two of the others in New York as soon as play resumes.
The only Ranger-related action to report on is Charlotte's loss last night. Not much to say about the prospects in the report, even though a couple figured in the scoring.
